“Brotox” – It’s Happening

No one wants to look old and feel outdated, especially at work. “Brotox” is the label coined to describe the increased acceptance of Botox treatments by men to help counteract facial aging. Men’s neuromodulator treatments (Botox, Dysport, Jeuveau, and Xeomin) are on the rise. Roughly thirty percent of all clients receiving Botox or similar treatments are men. Botulinum toxin A, the active ingredient in neuromodulators, decreases wrinkles by temporarily relaxing the muscles around the eyes and forehead. The result — smooth skin and an overall well-rested appearance.

Androgenic Alopecia, male-pattern hair loss characterized by a receding hairline and thinning crown, results from aging processes, male hormones, and genetic predisposition. Hair follicles shrink and thick terminal hairs are replaced by thin wispy hairs.  Topical and oral therapies are available; however, these treatments alone often don’t adequately reverse the hair thinning process. Hair surgery is an option but is expensive and can leave unsightly scars with variable results.  Platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) scalp treatments have shown efficacy in recent medical literature.  PRF supports the growth and differentiation of hair follicles using your body’s platelets. Platelets contain many growth factors and other signaling molecules that help your cells grow and repair. Combining PRF scalp treatments with prescription topical and oral therapies increases the chances of optimal results.

Restoring Thinning Hair

Boost Volume And Improve Contour with Dermal Fillers

Both women and men experience loss of soft tissue volume and skeletal support with aging, resulting in increased facial lines and flattening of contour. Dermal fillers are an FDA-approved option to slow or reverse these changes and restore more youthful features. Dermal fillers can also enhance facial features that may be out of proportion to the rest of the face, such as a recessed chin. Although women make up most patients undergoing aesthetic procedures, the number of men seeking out dermal filler and neuromodulator treatments has been steadily increasing year after year.
