Sculptra
Restore Collagen With Sculptra in Portland
It’s easy to confuse Sculptra with traditional dermal fillers since it treats similar concerns. However, it is not a hyaluronic acid-based dermal filler; instead, it is a biostimulator that stimulates collagen production via poly-L-lactic acid.
Sculptra
This biocompatible, biodegradable cosmetic injectable works at the foundational level, stimulating collagen production over 3-4 months, increasing the strength and vibrancy of your skin while subtly restoring volume and support to deficient areas. Many patients notice tighter, brighter skin lasting for 24 months or longer.
At Aluma, Sculptra is administered with a cannula for increased safety and comfort and also to decrease bruising.
FAQ: Sculptra
What is Sculptra used for?
Sculptra is used to stimulate collagen production, helping to restore volume and improve skin structure. This treatment is particularly effective for tightening the skin of the lower face and softening nasolabial folds and marionette lines. Additionally, it can be used to re-volumize the temples and tighten the neck area, making it a versatile option for overall facial rejuvenation.
How long does Sculptra last?
Sculptra results are more gradual and subtle compared to dermal fillers, but they last longer. While still temporary, Sculptra typically lasts around 24 months before gradually fading.
Can Sculptra be dissolved?
No, Sculptra cannot be dissolved like hyaluronic acid dermal fillers. Since it is a liquid that stimulates your body to produce collagen, it gradually adds natural volume to depleted areas over time.
How much is Sculptra?
In Portland, OR, the average cost of Sculptra is $900 to $1,000 a vial. At Aluma, we recommend starting with two vials of Sculptra for your initial treatment, followed by 1 to 2 vials for your subsequent treatment to achieve optimal results. On occasion, three treatments are recommended.
Before & After Care
How should I prepare for my Sculptra treatment?
No special preparation is needed for your Sculptra treatment. Some clients prefer to arrive with a clean, makeup-free face, though our staff will always cleanse the treatment area before starting. For added comfort, we mix lidocaine with the Sculptra injections, but you may also choose to take 1,000 mg of Tylenol before your appointment to minimize any discomfort.
What is the downtime associated with Sculptra treatments?
Sculptra has little to no downtime, with mild redness, swelling, and potential bruising at the injection sites. The swelling, mainly due to the injected solution, typically subsides within 24-72 hours, and most patients can resume regular activities the next day.
