Sculptra
Restore Collagen With Sculptra in Portland
It’s easy to confuse Sculptra with traditional dermal fillers since it treats similar concerns. However, it is not a hyaluronic acid-based dermal filler; instead, it is a biostimulator that stimulates collagen production via poly-L-lactic acid.
Sculptra
This biocompatible, biodegradable cosmetic injectable works at the foundational level, stimulating collagen production over 3-4 months, increasing the strength and vibrancy of your skin while subtly restoring volume and support to deficient areas. Many patients notice tighter, brighter skin lasting for 24 months or longer.
At Aluma, Sculptra is administered with a cannula for increased safety and comfort and also to decrease bruising.
FAQ: Sculptra
What facial areas can be treated with Sculptra?
This treatment is best for tightening the skin surface of the lower face and softening the nasolabial folds and marionette lines. In addition, it can be used to re-volumize the temples and to tighten the neck area.
How long does treatment last?
The results from Sculptra are temporary. However, they will last longer than a dermal filler, usually around 24 months, wearing off gradually from there.
Can Sculptra be dissolved?
Since Sculptra is a liquid medication that stimulates your body to create collagen, it adds natural volume to depleted areas over time. It cannot be dissolved like a hyaluronic acid dermal filler.
How much does treatment cost?
The average cost of Sculptra is $900 to $1,000 a vial. Typically, two to three treatments spaced six to eight weeks apart are needed for the best results. At Aluma, we recommend two vials for your initial treatment.
Before & After Care
How should I prepare for my treatment?
No preparation is necessary, although some clients prefer to arrive for their appointment with a clean, makeup-free face. However, our staff always cleanses the treatment area before administering Sculptra.
What is the downtime and aftercare associated with Sculptra treatments?
There is minimal downtime with these treatments aside from mild initial redness and swelling. The swelling is due to the sterile water used to reconstitute the medication for injection. This water is gradually reabsorbed over 24-72 hours, at which point all swelling should resolve. Patients can return to regular activities the next day. Injection site tenderness and mild bruising can occur.
