Lift and Tighten With Silhouette Instalift Threads

Silhouette Instalift threads are a significant advance in aesthetic technology that makes it possible to effectively lift and tighten the tissue of the lower face to restore a youthful appearance. Traditionally, it has been challenging to resuspend sagging facial features along the jawline and around the mouth without surgery.

Silhouette Instalift Threads

Silhouette Instalift is an absorbable suture with a twofold benefit. First, they lift tissue utilizing their patented design, a series of small cones oriented in opposite directions. This design allows the skin and subcutaneous fat to be advanced over the cones and then held in a lifted position. The second benefit is collagen stimulation. The sutures are made of Poly-L-Lactic acid, a molecule proven to increase collagen production and  tighten the skin over time.

Aluma patients love that this treatment delivers immediate facial lift with gradual skin rejuvenation without the downtime of surgery.

Mini Lifts That Last

Instalift threads are a minimally invasive treatment that creates real results with little recovery time. The treatment is well tolerated, with minimal discomfort, using only local numbing medication. First, Dr. Brigham carefully observes the contours and movements of your face to determine the best thread placements that will restore maximal lift. A gentle lidocaine mix is skillfully injected into the treatment area to ensure your comfort throughout the procedure.
Next, he delicately inserts the threads into the subcutaneous tissue. He carefully advances the lax skin and fat of the lower face upward toward the cheek, where it is held in place by the cones. The results are immediately apparent: jowl fat pads are diminished, nasolabial folds are reduced, and the jawline is more defined. By six to nine months, increased collagen production is apparent as skin tightening and smoothing continue. The threads are gradually dissolved by the body over several months, and new collagen is left in their place, creating results that last from 12 to 36 months.

FAQ: Thread Lifts

What facial areas can be treated with Silhouette Instalift Threads?
Common treatment areas include the lines between the brows, the crow’s feet, the forehead lines, the jaw muscle for TMJ or teeth clenching, and the chin muscle to smooth chin dimpling. Other areas include the muscles that cause a gummy smile, the muscles that cause a downturned smile, the traps for tight shoulders, and the platysmal bands in the neck.
How are Silhouette Instalift Threads different than PDO Threads?
Silhouette Instalift Threads are not the same as PDO Threads. Placement of the Silhouette Threads requires more technical skill than PDO Threads (which is why you don’t see as many offices offering this treatment); we believe they are far superior to PDO Threads. Instalift Threads have a higher lifting capacity and duration due to their design incorporating cones rather than the barbs used by PDO Threads. The cones have more surface area to hold and lift tissue. Instalift Threads have a higher tensile strength than PDO Threads and are less prone to breaking. Instalift sutures are superior collagen stimulators because of their PLGA and PLLA material. They are well tolerated by patients and offer longer-lasting results.
How long do Silhouette Instalift Threads last?
Silhouette Instalift Threads are not permanent. The sutures dissolve into the tissue over several months, forming collagen at the thread site. The lifting effects from the thread placements are immediate, and the lifted results typically last 12 to  36 months.
How much do Silhouette Instalift Threads cost?
The cost range is $1600 to $3500, depending on the number of threads required.

Before & After Care

Avoid over-the-counter blood thinners and supplements like ibuprofen and asprin prior to treatments as they can excerbate bruising. Take 1,000 mg of Tylenol 45 minutes prior to your appointment to aid in treatment comfort. Please arrive to your appointment with a clean, makeup-free face.
After treatment, patients may notice mild to moderate tenderness and swelling for a few days.  Mild skin surface irregularities can also occur but typically resolve after 48 to 72 hours.  Some bruising in the treatment area can also occur due to the nature of the treatment.

High-intensity exercise should be avoided for two weeks to ensure stable thread placement.
